I worked with Thomas of Ditmas Park Renovation to fully renovate the kitchen in my apartment. Thomas is very precise (a characteristic which I have often been criticized for), which honestly I found to be refreshing. From the first meeting and through the completion of the project he was always on time, always kept his appointments, gave sufficient notice so that I could make proper arrangements, and was always accessible for phone calls, etc. At the end of every day, I got an email update of what was done and what was projected to be done on the following day(s). He went out of his way to assist me with tasks that were related to my project but were not his responsibility. Apart from his punctuality, he understood exactly what I wanted and made sure that it was achieved. I am very happy with the quality of the work and the finished product.

We were very pleased by the work done by Ditmas Park Renovations. They renovated a bathroom water damaged by a burst pipe. Thomas and his partner’s work exceeded our expectations. They are professional, competent, courteous and highly skilled. Their price was not only reasonable, but they did not change their original estimate when additonal work was needed. I rarely post reviews but I can highly recommend Ditmas Park Renovations. I do plan to use them again !!!

Intensive plaster repair work on walls and ceilings almost entire house, brand new hardwood floors installed, sanded stained and finished complete interior painting and 4 new windows installed.
Quality work for a very good price was completed mostly by 2 guys on the job. Excellent responsiveness by with co-owner who bid on the job, was generally flexible generous and honest. Workers did extensive overtime to try to complete work by deadline. New hardwood floors polyurethane did not dry in a very long time and it still scratches much more easily than refinished floors in a other rooms of house (perhaps a poor quality product used?). To be fair they did the floors for much less than flooring specialists and I didn’t think I could afford new hardwood. I would recommend using pre-finished wood if you can get it.

I wanted to get the apartment painted prior to sub-letting and later selling. The job was handled professionally and to a high standard from first to last, from the initial phone call to the clean-up when the painting was finished. Calls & e-mails were answered promptly and efficiently, the job was arranged and done without fuss, the painters were on time and did very good work. Reasonable price, not the cheapest quote I had but not the most expensive, either, and definitely value for money. The painters knew their stuff and were friendly and attentive. I was able to come and go as I pleased and they worked around me. They didn’t even mind when one of the cats jumped into a tray of paint, and they helped clean him off. The building manager, who can be quite fussy at times, was also impressed with their operations. Highly recommended, call Robert, you will be happy with his company’s work

These guys went above and beyond. They didn’t have a bit for a putting up some bars in a bathroom–a job they said they’d try to fit into to the four hours I had prepaid. They went out got the bit came back and put the bars in and didn’t charge extra. They did a very good job and they were punctual and kept in touch. I would definitely use these guys again.

Over the past 7 years the grout in the kitchen and both bathrooms became discolored. The acid wash cleaned it right up and it looks brand new now. Also, the caulking in the bathrooms around the bathtub and shower became moldy and broken. It looks very nice now

In between tenants, Ditmas came into our rented apartment and repaired a load of water damage in the bathroom, ended up basically replacing walls and ceiling, and painted the entire apartment. On a very short timeframe they came in and gave us a quote, returned as soon as the tenants left and finished earlier than expected, allowing the new tenants to get in a day early. The place looked disastrous when our previous tenants left and looked fantastic when the new people moved in. We definitely are planning to work with these people again as we further remodel after the current tenants leave; we move in next!

After our contractor bailed on us and did not show up for 4 days we decided to pay the Angie’s list fee and find a new licensed contractor. I came across Ditmas Park Renovations, it was a Sunday evening and thought I might just try to call to see if anyone picks up since we were very desperate. Tom picked up the phone and told me he will be in my area within 3 hours to give me an estimate (on a Sunday night!!!). He came into what will potentially be our restaurant (it was a big fat mess at the time) and started looking around. We had to fix walls, paint, fix floors, install electrical stuff, work on some stairs, take out the old sign at the front of the store etc… it was really a big fat mess. Tom said he will call me with an estimate at around 8pm, and he did.. we agreed that the work will start the next Monday or so. He said he will bring his crew in at 8am and they were actually here at 8am, unlike our old contractor who use to come in at 3pm and leave at 4am… Tom said the work will be done in 7 days and the work was done in 6 days… We were very happy with the outcome and will definitely refer this company to friends, neighbors and family!

I had Tim and his partner come in to cut some tile. They were on time,(early actually) polite and clean. They put up plastic before doing any cutting. They did a neat job. I asked them to install an air conditioner for me for a few extra dollars, and they said “sure, no problem”. It was a small job, but I could tell by the way they worked that I would hire them again.

Tom, Rob and their crew prepped and painted my exterior wood sections, mostly the porch, railing, trim, masonry foundation, and did some minor carpentry in my 1904 Victorian house in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.
Really excellent all around. They were extremely thorough, paid attention to property protection, the estimate was clear, change orders were in writing. Tom and Rob, the owners, were on the job themselves and supervised their crew closely and the house looks fantastic. I highly recommend them. I’ve done this sort of work myself on this house and their work was equal or better than anything I’ve done here before.

Painted and repaired the woodwork and trim on the house exterior, plus built a new Yankee gutter on the porch. Rob and Tom responded promptly for the inquiry, provided the estimate, commenced the work as promised and provided expertise. They worked neatly and obeyed all the regulations. Their crew was also polite, efficient and capable young men. They gave us the best paint job ever.

Excellent experience. Thomas, one of the owners of the company, responded quickly to initial inquiry, and within a day or so came by to work up an estimate. Estimate was accurate, detailed, and allowed for options of how much of the work was to be completed at this time. Price was reasonable so we went ahead with all the work proposed in the estimate. Work was begun and completed on schedule, within a matter of a couple of days, even though the temperature dropped considerabley for the couple days of work, and all the work was done outside. Thomas was accessible, easy to talk to about the work, explained everything clearly and accurately, and never tried to impose unnecessary work or repair, but brought to our attention needed repairs that mattered to the work being done. His colleague found a simpler and less expensive way to repair the warped wooden porch floorboard than originially estimated, and the final cost reflected that.
The house is a 3-story, 2-family Queen Anne style, with lots of maintenance and repairs to be done, and we will definitely be calling Thomas and Ditmas Park Renovations again. The fact that they are located in the neighborhood is a big plus, as they are familiar with this style of house. Completely satisfied and relived to have finally found a local construction company that we’re comfortable with.

These guys were great. They did everything I asked and kept me informed all the way through on how everything was going. I asked them to use Ditra on my shower walls. They were not familiar with how to install it but they learned how to use it and installed it just perfectly. They took care of all the finishing work and clean up.
